Mokpo Port Festival
Mokpo Port Festival is designated as the promising festival of Korea for two years in a row. It is focused on the feature that Mokpo ist marine city. This festival was once called Mokpo Marine Culture Festival, but lately, it got a new name, Mokpo Harbor Festival. Tourists walk along the decks which are decorated with fish-shaped lanterns, experience fishing activities and board traditional ships. In especial, there are held seasonal fish market called Pasi again during the festival. After Mokpo grown into a huge port city, Pasi was also brilliantly illuminated for a while but it has been gradually declined due to reclamation project and circulation system change.
